Introduction
Sushma Koirala Memorial Engineering College (SKMEC) was established in 2056 BS (1998) under the recognition of Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) which has been running the classes of three years diploma in Civil Engineering. Comparatively it has been producing better results in each of its batch. Many of its students have been studying in BE and ME level and almost all of them are involved in income generating fields for a better living. SKMEC has also been providing short-term technical training in Plumbing, House Wiring along with electrical and electronic training.
Rational
It's a bitter fact that many youths are unemployed as they do not have adequate skill to generate income to support livelihood of their families. They remain unemployed during their productive age period for a long time. Many of the youths tend to go for employment to the gulf countries. But they are least paid as they do not have much skill to do skillful jobs. This project aims at providing skills to such unemployed youths from within the RRN's working area so that they can generate income- generating opportunities by themselves within the area. Even if they go for the employment opportunities outside, they are paid better for the work they do.
